This is the second single malt whiskey from Shizuoka Distillery, called "Prologue W".
W represents the nickname for their unique Chibafire distillation equipment. Among the limited number of Chibafire distillers worldwide, the unique feature of Shizuoka's equipment is that it uses wood fire as fuel. The abundant coniferous trees in the local rich mountain areas are chopped into firewood by local loggers. By reviving distillation technology from over 200 years ago, they use Chibafire to distill and produce whiskey.
The main ingredients include Japanese malted barley, as well as Scottish peat malt and beer malt.
