Releasing aromas reminiscent of pear and white grapes, accented by Kaze no Mori’s signature fine effervescence. On the palate, gentle sweetness and soft acidity unfold in balance, while the pesticide-free Akitsuho creates a pure, transparent sake quality that highlights the elegant fragrance. The finish is light, smooth, and refreshingly pleasant.
This is a precious expression born from the interplay of “Earth × Environment × Terroir,” worthy of savoring slowly.
From the Katsuragi Sanroku Brewery, surrounded by terraced rice fields in Gose City, Nara Prefecture, comes S Kaze no Mori 2024 ☆☆ Sugiura / Nishi Area 01.
The “S Kaze no Mori” series captures the vitality of satoyama and terraced landscapes, infused with the energy of the land. This release uses Akitsuho rice harvested in 2024 by Mr. Sugiura in the Nishi area, grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Characteristics of the Nishi Area: Situated at over 400 meters above sea level, it is the highest part of the foothills. The region shifted early to pesticide- and chemical-free cultivation. Surrounded by forests, with limited sunlight and very small fields, the environment is extremely demanding—but precisely because of this, it produces Akitsuho rice of extraordinary purity and quality.
