It releases a mature and elegant sweet potato aroma, layered with notes of honey, caramel, dried fruits, and a subtle woody aged character, creating remarkable depth. On the palate, it is exceptionally smooth and rounded, with a refined yet rich sweetness accompanied by complex umami developed through long-term aging, and a warm, mellow texture. The body is full and well-balanced. The finish is long and profound, carrying lingering sweet potato sweetness and gentle woody aging notes, leaving a lasting and elegant aftertaste.

This is an extremely rare commemorative release created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Moriizo Brewery, limited to only 135 bottles. This imo shochu is traditionally crafted using the “kame-tsubo (earthen pot) fermentation method,” then aged for 18 years before being bottled as genshu. The extended aging results in exceptional smoothness and depth of flavor, with richly layered aromas, making it a highly collectible and premium expression of aged shochu.
