While retaining Sharaku’s signature delicacy and exceptional balance, this sake offers an even lighter, more elegant, and approachable drinking experience, revealing an entirely new expression of the renowned brand.
Sharaku, the highly acclaimed sake from Aizuwakamatsu in Fukushima Prefecture, has collaborated with world-renowned artist Dai Tamura to create the ultra-limited “Kumadori Enbu Collaboration with Dai Tamura,” opening an exciting new artistic chapter for Sharaku.
This collaboration originated from Dai Tamura’s longstanding relationship with Miyaizumi Meijo. Driven by his desire to personally create a label for Sharaku, his enthusiastic proposal ultimately led to the creation of this highly commemorative limited-edition release.
The sake is brewed using Gohyakumangoku rice polished to 50% and marks Sharaku’s first-ever attempt at a low-alcohol specification of just 13%. While preserving the brand’s signature refined character, it introduces a lighter and more elegant new expression. The label design draws inspiration from “Kumadori,” the distinctive stage makeup worn by Kabuki actors, combined with imagery of blazing flames. Through its powerful artistic expression, the design interprets the world of Sharaku while seamlessly blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with contemporary art.
Each bottle is presented in an elegant paulownia wood gift box, making it highly desirable for both collecting and gifting. Produced in extremely limited quantities, this extraordinary collaboration between a world-class artist and one of Japan’s most celebrated sake brands is a rare release of exceptional artistic, commemorative, and collectible value.
