As its name suggests, this sake offers a silky, smooth mouthfeel with the rich aroma and bittersweet notes of caramel pudding—truly a “grown-up pudding sake.”
Ms. Marie Chiba highly recommends pairing it with inarizushi; adding a touch of pickled ginger enhances its layered flavor even further.
This limited-edition collaboration sake, “Purin-chan,” is the fifth creative release jointly produced by Ms. Chiba—owner of “EUREKA!” and formerly of “GEM by moto”—and the 300-year-old Raifuku Shuzo of Ibaraki Prefecture, famed for its use of diverse sake rice and natural flower yeasts. It follows previous playful creations such as “Raifuku Caramel,” “Poison Apple,” “Coconut Milk-kun,” and “Choco-le-kun.”
Brimming with creativity and craftsmanship, this sake embodies the joy and imagination shared between brewer and curator—a rare delight not to be missed.
